Playoff Bracket Information
District Alignment Information can be found on the UIL website: http://www.uiltexas.org/files/alignments/vb-4a-2010.pdf
4A Bracket Info: http://www2.uil.utexas.edu/brackets/volleyball/volleyball-4a.pdf
Helpful hints: There are 32 4A districts in Texas with anywhere from 6 to 10 schools in each district. HP is in district 10 which falls under Region 2. The Regions are arranged clockwise starting with Region 1 being mainly Ft Worth area schools and West Texas, Region 2 is Dallas area and Northeast Texas schools, Region 3 is Houston area, and Region 4 is San Antonio, Austin and South Texas. The districts are realigned every 2 years. The top four teams in each district make the playoffs.
The 4A bracket covers 2 pages and has a small legend in the middle showing what the various abbreviations mean. W = Winner or First Place, R = Runner Up or Second Place, T= Third Place and F = Fourth Place. To find Highland Park, you need to find Region 2's bracket and look for 10R for 10th District Runner-up. The bracket does show the progression from Bi-District to Area to Regionals to State with the applicable dates. Region 2 Regionals (semi-finals) are to be held at the Garland Special Events Center on 11/12 and the Regional finals at Sacshe High School on Saturday afternoon, 11/13. The State Semi-finals (11/18) and Finals (11/20) are held in San Marcos at Texas State University. The bracket will be filled in at the end of district (10/30) and, as playoff scores are reported, the UIL playoff bracket will show the latest results.
