Comments: Lake Travis traveled to Class 5a Seguin for a season opener with the Matadors, a team that beat lake Travis last year in Class 4A regional but it was win one of an impressive start that saw the Cavaliers win the Warrior showcase by beating 5A San Antonio Reagan in the semifinals and 5A San Antonio lady Bird Johnson in the finals. Pearce was also impressive beating Westlake to win the Duncanville tournament of champions. Canyon Randall won their tournament beating El Paso Chapin in the finals. Hereford downed Dalhart for third place. Highland Park won the silver Bracket at Duncanville and had a strong weekend. The Scots beat Lake Highlands 25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15; Red Oak 26-24, 25-20, 25-18; Clear Springs 25-8, 25-23; Arlington 28-26, 28-26; and Keller 24-26, 25-20, 26-24. Waco Midway had a strong finish at the Warrior showcase, placing fourth to San Antonio Reagan. Alamo Heights beat Deer park to win their own tournament
